The RE:NEW project is bringing cinema back to the heart of the Odeon, both through a dedicated 100-seat cinema offering film and live streamed events in a characterful and comfortable setting, and in the innovative provision of a large screen within the foyer spaces within the old art deco surround which can be used to relay films and events in an informal atmosphere.
The new cinema screen sits within a sound-proofed pavilion (pictured right) inside the historic Odeon’s former auditorium. State-of-the-art digital cinema equipment will allow a wide range of films and live events to be screened in a comfortable and characterful setting.
A second projector allows films and events to be relayed to a large screen located in the proscenium arch of the Odeon. This provides the apparatus to present film in the more informal setting of the main foyer space.
